EN/ Doing the biggest planning in Meram’s history by developing a reconstruction plan revision for 50 million square meters of a land that consists the half of the Meram’s population, the mayor of Meram, Fatma TORU, has become a model for Turkey with her urban transformation projects for 5 distinct regions.
TR/ Bir yıl içinde Meram nüfusunun yarısını kapsayan 50 milyon metrekarelik alanda imar planı revizyonu yaparak ilçe tarihindeki en büyük planlamayı gerçekleştiren Meram Belediye Başkanı Fatma Toru, 5 ayrı bölgeyi kapsayan kentsel dönüşüm projeleriyle de Türkiye’ye örnek oldu.
EN/ The Mayor Toru, who reported that the lack of planned construction and planned activity is the most important problem of Meram and this problem remained her principal concern after her becoming the mayor of Meram, stated that: “We have developed a reconstruction plan for 50 million square meters of land. This plan that consists 44 city districts and 170 thousands of people, concerns the half of our citizens”.
Mayor Fatma Toru has stated that their principal goal, about developing the future of Meram, is to acquire accessible areas for everyone, and she has also stated that “Development and transformation is unavoidable for our city due to problems like sub-structural problems emerged by the effect of rapid urbanization lasted from 1950s to today, low living comfort, old structures, 30-40 years old structures that are weak against natural disasters, socially and economically underdeveloped areas, areas that live public-transformation problem, the problem of lack of insufficient car park areas, narrow streets and dead ends, the structures that distorts the image of our city. We ought to make these moves to make Meram a more comfortable and environmentally more livable place for our children”.

Stating that this transformation will take place with a human-centric understanding and without affecting people’s daily life, Toru also states that “This urban transformation and renewal should be recognized as a historical chance for construction healthier and safe places. Here you will witness a city for everyone, more comfortable life for everyone and clear applications for environment. Everyone will have benefits with this transformation. We are not only working to acquire a home for our people, but also to acquire a place more peaceful. Our job is not only an urban transformation but also to develop a model for reconstruction our civilization and make it happy, and also develop it in a way that coheres with new Turkey’s new municipality view”.
TR/ Meram’ın en önemli sorununun imarlı yapılaşma ve imarlı hareket olduğunu sürekli dile getirdiklerini ve göreve geldikten sonra da öncelikli olarak bu konu üzerinde durduklarını kaydeden Başkan Toru, “Toplamda 50 milyon metrekarelik alanda imar planlama çalışması yaptık. 44 mahalle ve 170 bin nüfusu kapsayan bu çalışma Meram’da yaşayan hemşehrilerimizin yarısını ilgilendiriyor’’diye konuştu.
Meram’ın geleceğini planlarken, herkes için erişilebilir mekânları kazandırmanın gayretinde olduklarını dile getiren Başkan Fatma Toru, “1950’li yıllardan bugüne hızlı kentleşmenin etkisiyle şehirlerimizde yaşanan altyapı sorunları, düşük yaşam konforu, metruklaşmış binalar, olası afetlere karşı riskli 30-40 yıllık yığma yapılar, sosyal ve ekonomik açıdan şehrin diğer kesimlerine göre geri kalmış bölgeler, toplu ulaşımın işlemediği alanlar, otopark sorunu, çıkmaz ve dar sokaklarla şehir imajını olumsuz etkileyen yapılar ve bölgeler için değişim ve dönüşüm kaçınılmazdır. Çocuklarımıza daha yaşanabilir, çevre ve yaşam kalitesi yüksek bir Meram bırakabilmek için bu hamleleri yapmamız gerekiyordu” dedi.
DÖNÜŞÜMÜN KAZANANLARI HERKES OLACAK
Kimseyi günlük hayattan koparmayacak yapıda, insanı merkeze alan bir anlayışla bu değişimi gerçekleştirmeyi hedeflediklerini belirten Toru, “Kentsel dönüşüm ve yenileme daha sağlıklı ve güvenli mekânların inşası için tarihi bir fırsat olarak değerlendirilmelidir. Herkes için şehir, herkes için kaliteli yaşam ve çevre için şeffaf bir uygulama örneğine burada şahit olacaksınız. Dönüşümün kazananları tüm taraflar olacaktır. İnsanımıza sadece barınabilecekleri alan değil huzurlu yaşam sürebilecekleri alanları sunma gayesiyle çalışmalarımızı sürdürüyoruz. Burada yaptığımız iş sadece kentsel bir dönüşüm değil aynı zamanda medeniyetimizin yeniden inşa ve ihyasına, yeni Türkiye’nin yeni belediyecilik anlayışına uygun örnek bir uygulama olacaktır” diye konuştu.
